How did we fall so far?

I recently read the article about France Perkins who was in FDR`s cabinet, the first woman in such a role. Reading about all that one determined woman did during her service to our country makes my blood boil when I think of the narcissistic psycho who is tearing it apart. How did we as a country fall so far? The greed and lack of any morality of this administration is a poison that has infected us all, dividing our fellow citizens and polluting the minds and actions of (especially) our younger generations who have not had the good fortune to grow up with leaders who they can be proud of. People of good will and courage can be the instrument of change for the good. It would do us all well to realize that we must become part of this action...otherwise, history will assign our present time to the dark period of the end of democracy in our United States of America, a long way down from our previous role as a shining light for the world in which we now live.
